🎮 The Sims4: Sanctuary & Strategic Living

Our Sims4 gameplay challenge is built around realism, long-term planning, and meaningful consequences. Every Simoleon, skill point, and in game hour matters. This is not a casual or chaotic playthrough, it’s a structured simulation designed to push The Sims4 mechanics to their limits.

The gameplay combines business management and animal welfare storytelling within The Sims4 universe. Multiple income generating lots such as the PURR & FOLD Laundromat and the upscale La Scala Restaurant financially support several highly specialized animal shelters. Expansion packs, mods, and self imposed rules are used to create a more realistic, high responsibility experience.

Advanced gameplay systems are central to the challenge, including animal training and rehabilitation (CPDT-KA inspired mechanics), exotic and high-risk rescues like lioness Talia, complex staffing structures, and unpredictable setbacks such as financial loss, emergencies, and social consequences.

Throughout this project, ‘we’ refers to the gameplay perspective, Skyler’s actions as guided by the player {creator} and shaped by the community.

👉 We don’t:

• use cheats (only for sleep decay)

• magically get rich

• ignore bad decisions

If something goes wrong, it remains part of the save until Skyler fixes it.

(except in the case of a technical glitch)

• We can’t buy everything at once

• Sims need to actually learn skills

• We have to choose what to focus on each day

• decorating

• messing around

• letting chaos happen

• We play with intention using goals and rules to push The Sims4 to its limits. The goal is to see how far a story can develop and how animals respond to constant care, training, and attention. This gameplay tests whether keeping pets happy and well trained truly changes their lives in game, similar to how it does in real life.

• Through Skyler’s journey, we also learn and test how to manage multiple businesses successfully, balance time between work and care, and support the community, creating jobs, helping those in need, and making choices that positively impact others. Every decision teaches us more about strategy, empathy, and responsibility, both in the game and in understanding complex systems.

👉 We run businesses to pay for animal shelters.

For example:

• The laundromat and restaurant make money

• That money is used to:

• feed animals

• build shelters

• hire staff

• rescue more pets

If the businesses fail → the shelters struggle.

• we train animals properly

• we don’t instantly “fix” them

👉 Skyler don’t do everything alone.
She has to:

• hire the right team

• manage schedules

• deal with staff problems

Bad staffing = animals are neglected.​

👉 Things can go wrong, like:

• losing money

• family, friends fights

• emergencies

• family drama

• social consequences

We don’t reset the save when that happens. We save the game after each live stream!
